    Global Head of Falck Renewables – Next Solutions

    Marco graduated in Engineering, going on to complete a Master’s in International Economics at SDA Bocconi in Milan. Between 1997 and 2000 he worked in the UK for the American group Allegheny Technologies. From 2001 to 2004, he worked for Sapient Spa (now Sapient Publicis), a consulting company focused on digital innovation, heading up the energy sector. He then became CEO of Pöyry Energy S.r.l. (now Afry) in Italy and, with the same Finnish group, he held international roles in Zurich, working in management and technical consulting for renewables and energy markets. Until 2016, he was Head of Strategy and Innovation at Siram S.p.A. and CEO of Simav S.p.A., both part of the French group Veolia. Since 2016, he has been Global Head of Falck Renewables – Next Solutions and CEO of Falck Next Srl. Respectively, since 2018 he has also been chairman of Energy Team SpA and, since 2021, of Saet SpA, both part of the Falck Renewables – Next Solutions division.

    Fabio Zanellini

    Head of Technical and Regulatory Affairs

    Fabio graduated in Electrical Engineering in September 2000 and completed an Engineering Doctorate in Electrical Power Systems in February 2004, both at the University of Pavia. From July 2004 to December 2008, he worked as a researcher at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Pavia, and worked in consulting for the planning and operational scheduling of electrical systems and as a plant designer. In October 2009, he joined Siemens SpA as project engineer for electrical systems for command, protection and control and progressed to the role of Head of Technical & Regulatory Affairs for the Energy Management Division. Since February 2019, he has been with Falck Renewables SpA, first in the role of Head of Ancillary Service Development and Strategic Business developer for Energy Team SpA, a group company, and then from 2021 as Head of Technical and Regulatory Affairs for the Group. Fabio is also a Board Member of the associations ANIE Energia and ANIE Rinnovabili, Chairman of the Technical Commission at ANIE Energia assigned to regulatory affairs, Coordinator of the Energy Commission at Federazione ANIE, and Chairman of the Technical Commission of the Storage Systems Group and Coordinator of the Storage Systems Group for Italia Solare. Fabio is also on the Technical Committees 316, 120, 13 and 99 of the Italian Electrotechnical Committee (CEI), Vice Chairman of the Technical Committee 8/123 and member of the editorial team for the publications AEIT and L’Energia Elettrica. Finally, he is Board Member for the Milan branch of the AEIT association. He is enrolled in the Order of Engineers of the province of Pavia.

    Annachiara Gomiero

    Head of Marketing and Communication Falck Renewables – Next Solutions

    Annachiara completed a humanities degree at the University of Padua and began her career in marketing with several positions in event management. Before joining the company, she worked at the Adnkronos Group in press-office and communication roles for various corporate and institutional entities.
    In 2011, she entered the energy sector, when she was employed to support the Head of Sales and Marketing at Astrim, an energy service company acquired by the Bosch Group in 2013. At Bosch Energy and Building Solutions Italy, in the role of Marketing and Communication Manager, she handled post-merger integration in terms of internal and external communication and remained with the Group until 2019, taking on various roles of increasing responsibility, following integration of the company within an international division focused on systems for energy, comfort and security of buildings.
    Meanwhile, she specialised in Digital Marketing at the Luiss Business School hub in Milan and since 2019, she has been Head of Marketing and Communication for the three companies and respective business lines forming the Falck Renewables – Next Solutions Division.

    Francesco Benvenuto

    Head of Energy Management

    Francesco graduated in Engineering/Industrial Management, going on to complete a Master’s in Energy Finance at the MIP Politecnico di Milano university. Since 2016, he has been a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the CFA Institute.
    From 2003 to 2006 he worked for Accenture S.p.A. where he was involved in advisory projects on energy issues for major Italian utilities including Enel and Eni. In 2006, he worked at Dalmine Energie, a wholesaler in the commodities market owned by the Tenaris Group (then acquired by E.On), where he was involved in market analysis, evaluation of investment opportunities and planning and auditing. In 2008, he joined the EDF Group, first working at Edison Trading in Milan as a market analyst and assistant trader and then at EDF SA in Paris.
    At EDF SA, he held various positions, initially dealing with strategy, investment evaluation and medium/long-term structuring of the group’s asset portfolio, then becoming Head of Pricing and Sourcing of the retail and wholesale portfolio for the group in France (around 330 TWh), and finally assuming the role of Head of Portfolio Management with responsibility for medium/long-term planning and optimisation of the EDF group’s generation assets in France. Since 2018 Francesco has been responsible for the Energy Management Area of Falck Renewables S.p.A., he is managing director of Falck Energy S.r.l. and board member of Prima S.r.l and ECOSESTO S.p.A.

    Luigi Galli

    Head of Smart Solutions & CEO Energy Team

    After completing his technical studies (mechanics and electronics), Luigi established his career with two important roles. The first of these was with TXT, – Techint Software (X) and Telematica – a company then owned by the Rocca family and listed on the Italian stock exchange, which was founded as an innovative start-up operating in the development of embedded and real-time hardware and software solutions for energy monitoring and peak shaving, including energy-management services and applications in the field of efficiency. In this context, Luigi handled development in new markets and customer and applications research. He worked on SCADA and HMI software solutions. In 1996, he co-founded Energy Team with six other partners, in the role of Chairman. Since 2018, he has been CEO of Energy Team and represents the Smart Solutions business area of Falck Renewables – Next Solutions. Over these 34 years of his professional career, 26 of which with Energy Team, he has consolidated his expertise in the field of energy-metering systems and energy efficiency, maintaining ongoing relationships with key players in the electricity industry and the industrial federation system. He co-founded the company Energy Capital S.r.l., where he has held the role of CEO and Chairman since 2016, and also founded Consorzio Energy Aggregator: an aggregator of important industrial enterprises for active demand-side management (interruptibility) in electricity markets. Since 2018, he has been a board member for ANIE: first for ANIE Rinnovabili and now ANIE Energia.

    Stefano Petrucci

    Next Solutions Business Development & M&A

    Stefano graduated in Engineering, studying at the Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Bari universities. Between 2010 and 2013, he worked at Siemens on the creation of a business unit connected to opportunities deriving from growing interest in the energy-efficiency market from large industrial clients. From 2013 to 2016, he worked at Innowatio, an innovative Bergamo-based utility company, involved in the commercial development of electricity and gas supply, CO2 trading and energy-efficiency projects, focused both on consulting and ESCo investment, with large industrial and tertiary-sector clients as well as in the development of the company abroad in Germany and Argentina. He was one of the first people to join Falck Renewables – Next Solutions division and contributed to the development of the division by holding, from 2017 to 2021, the role of Head of Energy Solutions – Industrial & Commercial for the development of ESCo solutions and support of M&A activities. He recently took on the role of Next Solutions Business Development and M&A activities. He is also on the Board of Directors of Falck Next S.r.l. and since 2018 he has been on the Board of Directors of Energy Team S.p.A., a Falck Renewables – Next Solutions company.

    Fabio Carrara

    Head of Energy Solutions – Public Administration

    Having graduated from the Politecnico di Milano university and obtained EGE (energy management) certification, he launched his professional career at the engineering firm of Luigi Gaggeri, offering consulting for leading national businesses. Since 2013, he has worked in the field of energy efficiency and energy management, in coordinating business-development roles, primarily in the B2G sector. Within the ESCo of the Innowatio Group, as Technical Coordinator of the public administration BU, he acquired detailed expertise in project management, public-private partnership (PPP) and public tenders. In 2017, he joined Falck Renewables as Technical Manager – Client Services Division. In 2018, he took over the role of Head of Energy Solutions – Public Administration, and in 2019 he has also been Technical Director of the company Falck Next S.r.l., involved in energy efficiency, smart cities, storage, demand-side management and demand response.

    Pietro Torretta

    Head of Energy Solutions

    Pietro graduated in Engineering and went on to complete a Master’s in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency at the Politecnico di Milano university. From 1999 to 2004, he worked in Germany in the automotive sector, first at Daimler AG and then FCA. He then changed sectors to start his experience in the energy field. From 2006, with Sorgenia, he held various roles in the field of energy efficiency and development of renewable plants. In 2011, he became Head of Business Development at Enerray, a leader in the photovoltaic sector, taking the company international. Finally, in 2020, he took the position of Distributed Photovoltaic Development Manager at Falck Renewables – Next Solutions, with the mission of developing generation capacity both through acquisitions and development of plants and implementation of new business models. Since 2021, Pietro has been responsible for the Energy Solutions area and a member of the Board of Directors of Saet, a company that is part of Falck Renewables – Next Solutions.

    Giorgio Rossi

    CEO Saet

    Graduating in 1975 from Padova in electronic engineering, with the highest grade and an experimental thesis on the use of minicomputers for process control, after around two years of academic research, he joined SAET to continue work in industrial automation. He created a real-time operating system and input/output interfaces for minicomputers for industrial control and subsequently a complete HW and SW PLC system with which important automation systems were created for primary steelmaking in Italy and abroad.

    Having become technical manager also for the traditional electromechanics area, with ENEL he developed systems to regulate the levels of hydroelectric power plants and the first relay-logic systems for power plants and substations.  He then took over the development of commercial activity until being appointed as Managing Director at the end of the 1980s, when SAET was purchased by the Techint group.

    In 1992, he participated in the Management buy-out that saw SAET leave the Techint group, becoming the majority shareholder and CEO.

    Following the merger of the company with the Falck Renewables Next Solutions division, his role as CEO was confirmed, and he has contributed to the growth and diversification of the company’s business.

    Michele Festa

    Digital Products Development & Services

    Michele graduated in engineering from the University of Naples Federico II with a dissertation for the National Research Council of Avellino.

    He began his professional career as an IT consultant, working in software development for the financial sector and contributing to a financial-analysis platform for EurizonVita, an Intesa Sanpaolo group company.

    Since 2009 he has worked in the energy sector, initially at Energy Team as a Software Developer. He then held various roles within the Research and Development division and is currently Head of Digital Products and Services Development in the Next Solutions division of Falck Renewables. Here, he coordinates a multidisciplinary team that develops and creates fundamental innovative digital solutions for customers preparing to face growing challenges in the field of energy, energy efficiency and sustainability.
